A level 300 student of Sociology, Osei Yvonne Adobea has been elected as the first female President of the Students Representative Council of the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST-SRC)
Osei Yvonne Adobea with this victory will succeed Frank Owusu to ran the administration of the student front for the 2023/2024 academic year.
Osei Yvonne Adobea who was the only female among the six presidential aspirants came up with 37.37% to win the race.
Last year, Osei Yvonne Adobea came second in the KNUST-SRC presidential race losing to Frank Owusu.
As the first female president, Osei Yvonne Adobea will now have the mandate to fulfill her ambitious promises made for the student body.
The victory of Osei Yvonne Adobea, even though not surprising following the outcome of last year’s presidential election, will remain in history to be the first female to be the SRC president of the global best university in terms of quality education (KNUST).
Osei Yvonne Adobea shall run the student front with Nana Kwabena Osei as the vice president, Baaba Mills Christabel as the General Secretary, Oheneaku Kelvin as the Financial Secretary and Mavis Akolbila as the Women’s Commissioner.
